Trazos

Mónica García Vicente & Irving Villegas

Choreographer Mónica García Vicente and photographer/visual artist Irving Villegas embark on an installative-choreographic exploration of the experiences, dreams, and challenges of internationally experienced dance artists with multiple cultural backgrounds who have shaped—and continue to shape—the cultural scene in Hanover. They ask: After all this time in a country that is not our own, are we still the same? Or have we, through the blending of different cultures, our ideas, and our creativity, become something new?

Through dance, projected bodies, audio, and photographic material, they create a visually compelling performance that places their ambivalent emotional worlds at the center.

The festival format FOR REAL creates encounters between local dance artists and guest artists, providing a short rehearsal period to challenge their practices and experiment with new formats outside their usual production logic.
